But with the grey seals of Norfolk it is unavoidable during breeding season, getting too close risks pups being abandoned, and I am not willing to take that risk for the sake of a photograph.<\/p>\n<p>I have worked this location for the last three years, and I know the dunes enough to know that their are dips in the sand that allow the photographer to maintain a safe and comfortable distance for all involved, but also enable the resulting photograph to feel more intimate, all without setting foot on the beach itself.<\/p>\n<p>When I perch myself in the dip, it is then about hunkering down and waiting for a moment. I think this is one of the most special moments I have witnessed from these dunes.
