In The Path Of Giants
£250.00 – £1,150.00Price range: £250.00 through £1,150.002026
Low, filtered light settles gently on their immense forms, carving depth into every ridge and furrow of skin. Texture dominates the frame—thick, weathered, deliberate—each wrinkle holding the quiet record of distance traveled and time endured. Moving forward in measured silence, they shape the space around them, where shadow yields to presence and the earth seems to remember their passing long after they move on.
Skin
£250.00 – £1,150.00Price range: £250.00 through £1,150.002026
Soft light drifts across ancient skin, catching every crease, scar, and fold like a topographic map of time. Texture becomes language here—dust, memory, endurance—spoken in shades of gray. Two presences lean into the frame, massive yet tender, dramatic but emotional. I think it is one of my favourite elephant photographs to date.
Titans
£250.00 – £1,150.00Price range: £250.00 through £1,150.002024
To work with elephants is always one of the most surreal experiences – they always make me stop in my tracks, in total awe of their enormity, but also of their remarkable gentleness. I love watching them plod along, going about their daily business and interacting with their family. They deserve our utmost respect, after all, they were here long before us humans.
It is always a challenge to photograph them, indeed my last elephant release was back in 2022. I have tried a couple of times since, and have had this idea sketched out for a while – it just takes time with these beasts, there is no rushing an elephant, but I am not complaining – there are worse places to be than in the distant company of an elephant living his life. I came close once in 2023, but his head didn’t quite lift high enough, meaning the tusks blocked his friend’s face, so I tried again, and again.
It all came together, finally, in October 2024. I thought ‘Titans’ was the perfect title – they possess strength, intellect and importance in abundance.
The Matriarch
£250.00 – £1,150.00Price range: £250.00 through £1,150.002018
The elephant is a herd animal, they cannot survive without each other and it is well-known that they will spend time mourning the death of a fellow herd member; none more so than the herds matriarch.
The elephant is a beautiful and unique animal that deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. We must work hard to ensure the survival of this most unique beast.
Tears Of The Vanishing
£250.00 – £1,150.00Price range: £250.00 through £1,150.002019
Tears Of The Vanishing, a personal favourite from 2019. It is an emotional portrait with a strong message.
The elephant is vanishing, in 2018 it was anticipated that the species would be completely wiped out by 2020.
In the current climate, the elephant faces more threats than just the poacher. Populations are growing to unprecedented levels and the continent of Africa is struggling to accommodate these increasing populations alongside the native fauna.
I fear a world without the elephant; if we are ignorant enough to allow this most spellbinding of species to fall into extinction then who knows what other species we will allow to suffer the same fate. As humans we must take a step back and evaluate how we can live in harmony with these wonderful beasts.
After all, they were here long before us.
